Stockton Sixth Form College has installed a new management information system that will help to deliver a slick and more personalised experience for every student throughout their time at the college.
The UNIT-e system, supplied by Capita, will make it much easier for students to apply for their course via a tablet and enhance the systems staff use to track each learner’s attendance and achievement throughout their studies to ensure they are getting the most out of their chosen course.
Principal at Stockton Sixth Form College, Joanna Bailey, said: “We wanted a solution that would reflect the focus we place on supporting students as individuals from the moment they come into contact with us. Capita’s UNIT-e ticked all the boxes and we are confident that the more seamless service students will receive when they apply for courses from their tablets will help to boost student applications via these channels.”
UNIT-e replaces a number of in-house systems, enabling the college to simplify the management of additional learning support and bursaries. Student records can be stored in a single integrated system that is easily accessible to all staff.
Holding all student data electronically in one place will save hours of administration time, and the golden thread of information available to staff will support more efficient and effective communication with students from their first enquiry through to gaining their qualifications.
With a central hub of student data, staff across the institution will be able to make more informed decisions to support students’ learning progress. The college can also respond quickly to changing government reporting requirements.
Nigel Rayner, head of Capita’s further and higher education business, said: “Colleges are operating under an incredibly bright spotlight and the bar is being raised in terms of attracting the best students. We are delighted that Stockton Sixth Form College has chosen UNIT-e to help them improve attainment and enhance the experience of their students.”
Capita’s further and higher education business supplies the UNIT-e student record management system as well as solutions for delivering mobile technology, document management, library systems and payment solutions. For more information visit our UNIT-e page.
