Enhancing the potential of mobile working in social housing

04 August 2013

Capita is proud to support Derby Homes, Melin Homes, Newark and Sherwood District Council, Southway Housing Trust, Community Housing Group and Yarlington Housing Group who demonstrate continued commitment to mobile working, and its evolution within their services, by implementing new modules to extend their mobile working capability.

Recognising that optimising staff based both on site and in the field continues to be key for social housing organisations, mobile working remains a critical way to achieve efficiencies and improve working practise.

“We’re pleased to see the impact and benefits mobile working continues to offer social housing organisations, with over 10,000 mobile devices now live across our customers’ field-based staff.

Multiple organisations going live with new mobile working functionality in the last two months alone is testament to the social housing market’s dedication to this technology and how it continues to support them and their evolving requirements.”

A breadth of functionality

The additional functionality Capita’s customers have recently begun benefitting from includes mobile scheduling and repairs management: enabling instant access to repairs and maintenance scheduling in the palm of operatives’ hands, wherever they are, alongside full, end-to-end repairs processing direct from a mobile device.

Recent implementations of customer management and debt management modules are also ensuring housing officers can access and share up-to-date details of the tenants they are visiting, based on integration with their housing management system. Information can then be collected using a number of integrated forms on their mobile device, including updating tenant information, requesting a follow-up visit, making suitable arrangements for rent arrears and more, all updated automatically in the back office.
