Capita extends payment management service in new partnership with PayPoint

Capita’s software services business has announced its payment collection services will be available in thousands more locations in a new deal with PayPoint.

Capita’s existing comprehensive range of payment channels will be extended to include all of PayPoint’s 28,200 retail outlets. The new partnership provides a convenient and local way for consumers to pay for goods and services, and offers a method to pay by cash for those who choose not to pay by card or direct debit.

This partnership brings the number of outlets accepting payments via Capita’s channels to more than 40,300. 

Payments made at a PayPoint outlet will be managed, reconciled and settled alongside Capita’s other payment channels using Capita’s established managed service. Customers, including local authorities, schools, colleges, universities and housing associations, will benefit from a system in which income can be handled through a single supplier.

The partnership builds upon Capita’s existing partnership with PayPoint’s PaybyPhone which enables local authorities to use Capita to process parking payments made using a mobile phone.
